Who We Help:

Special Needs

When you have someone in your life that has a special need, whether they’re a child, grandchild, parent or other loved one, navigating the unique financial considerations that arise can be overwhelming. You may be wondering: What is a special needs trust? How can I save for my retirement and my child’s future? How do we navigate the complex eligibility requirements for Medicaid or disability?

A financial advisor can untangle the complicated lingo for you and help you understand the resources, services and strategies available to families with special needs, including help with setting up an ABLE account (also called a 529A savings account) to allow your family to put aside tax-advantaged funds for disability-related expenses.

We started Windward to help, and we are here to listen. Advising for clients that have special needs is like cooking for someone with an allergy. The basics of cooking don’t change, but there are special precautions that need to be taken into consideration. There are specific tools available to make accomplishing your goals easier. Make sure you work with someone that will listen to you, so you don’t have to stand on the beach alone.
